Day 2: My Vacation to Hongkong 2012

On our day 2 to Hongkong, we woke up as early as 6 am to prepare and have our free breakfast by 7 am (opening time of the resto). Our half day city tour will commence by 8 am. The halfday city tour itineray was  almost the same as the night tour except for the free dinner and your free optional tour like Ocean park, Disneyland or Macau. Since we have been to Ocean Park and Disneyland before, we opted to take the free Macau tour instead.

Free breakfast

Souvenir stuff from the tour operator

The package city tour is mandatory because they take you to stores that they are affiliated. Like Jewelry and souvenir shops that the travel agency said sponsored the tour that's why its cheap. Again, we went to the Avenue of the Stars at Vicoria Harbour to see the day view of HongKong. Unfortunately it was still winter time (February 2012) so fog covered most of the view. It is much more beautiful to see the view at night time.

By 10 am, went to the Peak and again fog still covered most of the views. We didn't stayed long there since were not enjoying the view due to sudden rainfall. Our tour guide told us that the best time to visit the city is from April to October as the humidity is low and the temperature is suited for outdoor activities. Hong Kong occasionally experiences tropical cyclones in summer.

Sampan ride...
Aberdeen Harbour was our next destination. Aberdeen is known for its floating islands where local fishermen can be seen plying their craft from their junks. It is also home to the floating restaurant, Jumbo. The best way to experience Aberdeen Harbour is to take a cruise tour by sampan. This is where one of the James bond movies was filmed. You have to pay 50 HKD per person to get on the boat for a 30 minutes tour.

And then we went to Disney resort and Ocean Park by 1:00 pm for some of the tourists will embark for their chosen optional tour. By 2 pm, its free time for shopping while we where escorted to the ferry terminal for the 3 pm tour to Macau. Fare for this tour was included in the package ( 176 HKD - one way).

That.s all for now! You may check our adventures to Macau in my next post

  1. I'm not really silly enough to think that chocolate solves anything. But it calms me. It's a soothing assurance, that this hectic life I have worked myself into is also full of wonderful surprises and unexpected sweetness. It reminds me that a hefty percentage of my "problems" don't really need to be solved at all, just outlasted. Cheap Flights to Hong Kong

  2. If for one minute you think you're better than a sixteen year old girl in a Green Day t-shirt, you are sorely mistaken. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about.
