Lifestyle: Movie Review - Batman "The Dark Knight Rises"

Last Sunday, I watched the film Batman "The Dark Knight Rises" at SM IMAX theater. The film was distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures. The Dark Knight Rises is the epic conclusion of filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

In this film, Batman (Christian Bale) vanished into the night for eight years and turned from hero to fugitive for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent. Batman sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar (Catwoman played by Anne Hathaway) with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane (Tom Hardy), a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

The Dark Knight Rises still entertains its audience because it has more action, more special effects, and more mystical philosophy than THE DARK KNIGHT. As a Batman comics fan it is a great film because it delivers a serious spectacle, a blockbuster with brains, an action movie for adults this time.

The film runs 2 hours and 45 minutes and is rated PG-13 for sequences of action and violence.

4****out of 5 Stars
