Lifestyle: Movie Review - Gods of Egypt

Google Synopsis:

The survival of mankind hangs in the balance when Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, usurps Egypt's throne and plunges the prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. Hoping to save the world and rescue his true love, a defiant mortal named Bek (Brenton Thwaites) forms an unlikely alliance with the powerful god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Their battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens for an epic confrontation.

My Review:

The film for me was not bad at all! While the majority of the reviews I read is panning  for racial issues because most of the cast are white. I think it may be convincing if some Egyptian or Middle Eastern actors have been part of the cast not just part of the population of mortals.

Its story kept to the spirit of the Egyptian pantheon. However there should some narration of explaining their gifts or powers.   I recommend doing some research on the Egyptian Gods before going to see it. I was thoroughly entertained, sometimes surprised, and even a little bit inspired.  I think children will definitely love this movie because of the many graphics and interesting new characters.

My rating is 7 out of 10 stars  *******
