Lifestyle: Movie Review - Gods of Egypt

Google Synopsis:

The survival of mankind hangs in the balance when Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, usurps Egypt's throne and plunges the prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. Hoping to save the world and rescue his true love, a defiant mortal named Bek (Brenton Thwaites) forms an unlikely alliance with the powerful god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Their battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens for an epic confrontation.

My Review:

The film for me was not bad at all! While the majority of the reviews I read is panning  for racial issues because most of the cast are white. I think it may be convincing if some Egyptian or Middle Eastern actors have been part of the cast not just part of the population of mortals.

Its story kept to the spirit of the Egyptian pantheon. However there should some narration of explaining their gifts or powers.   I recommend doing some research on the Egyptian Gods before going to see it. I was thoroughly entertained, sometimes surprised, and even a little bit inspired.  I think children will definitely love this movie because of the many graphics and interesting new characters.

My rating is 7 out of 10 stars  *******

Lifestyle: The Rebel Heart Tour - Madonna in Manila 2016

Last February 24, 2016, I was privileged to get complimentary tickets for the much awaited concert in the Philippines – Madonna - The Rebel Heart Tour  2016. It was the first day of her Rebel Heart Tour stop in Manila, Madonna delivered a breathtaking spectacle of a show.  The show, the concert rather started late for more than 2 hours but it was worth the wait because of the heart stopping performances of the Queen of Pop and its dancers.

There were  a lot of spotted local celebrities who attended the event and a very lucky super fan was able to dance and chit chat with the Queen as her unapologetic bitch.

Madonna serenaded her Filipino fans with  her classic songs from her old and new album like Like a Virgin, Vogue, Music, Like a prayer, True blue and others. She gave us a dazzling performance that leaves you always with an "AWE"! She made sure that the show will be an unforgettable for the Filipino crowd at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The concert lasted for more than 2 hours. Below are some of the pictures taken at the show. Enjoy!

Lifestyle: My Movie Review - DEADPOOL

The Movie: DEADPOOL is based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero. Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is a former Special Forces operative who now works as a mercenary. His world comes crashing down when the evil Ajax/Francis (Ed Skrein) tortures, disfigures and transforms him after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor. With the help from mutant allies Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and Colossus (Stefan Kapicic), Deadpool uses his new skills to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool was Rated R (age 16 and above) for strong violence & language with sexual content and graphic nudity. It is is over-the-top funny, very bloody, violent and the best Marvel movie that's made for adults! Not bad for an anti-hero that wears a mask, swings ninja swords and cannot die were Deadpool fans will surely love this well-written action packed, sexy, witty and romantic film.

Me and my friends surely did enjoyed the wild ride of this unconventional anti -hero film.
